My story

Starting the semester strong.

Hello! My name is Layla, I'm 16 years old, and I'll be attending Grand Valley State University this fall to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher! I've always wanted to be an educator, and I'm so excited to finally begin working toward that goal. I'll be majoring in Social Studies Education with a minor in Mathematics so I can teach both social studies and math at the middle or high school level. I'm also looking forward to getting involved on campus by joining theatre and participating in club swim so I can compete once more.

Contributions made through a profile support EFF’s Fall Student Success Fund and generate campaign votes. The displayed total is not a personal fundraising balance, is not payable to the student and does not belong to the student. Non-winning profiles do not receive the contributions connected to their vote totals.

The award is not a fixed amount. After voting closes, EFF will calculate an Available Award Pool from verified net campaign proceeds after refunds, disputes, reversals, payment-processing fees, fraud losses and reasonable direct campaign-administration costs.
