Student submits
The student completes required fields, publication consent and private enrollment documentation.
Donor information center
EFF built this campaign to help college students begin the semester prepared while protecting student privacy, completing final eligibility checks and keeping an auditable record of every campaign contribution.
How campaign giving works
Students may publish immediately. Paid votes count only after EFF activates the official payment period and the payment provider confirms the contribution.
The student completes required fields, publication consent and private enrollment documentation.
Once voting opens, supporters select an eligible published student profile.
Only completed, signed Stripe payment confirmations create verified campaign votes.
EFF reconciles net funds, reverifies eligibility and distributes approved support under the final rules.
Current award disclosure
Award amount and final form of support will be published by Esther Funds Foundation before winner confirmation.
Donor questions
EFF wants supporters to understand student publication, payment verification, final eligibility review and the limits of campaign giving.
Esther Funds Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donors receive a payment receipt. A contribution may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, but individual circumstances vary, so donors should consult a qualified tax professional.
No. Campaign contributions support EFF’s Fall Student Success Fund and remain under EFF’s charitable control. A profile’s vote total is not a personal fundraising balance, is not money owned by or payable to the student and does not become an award for a non-winning profile.
The award is fundraising-dependent and has no guaranteed minimum. After EFF verifies the final result and calculates the Available Award Pool under the rules, the one official winner may choose either eligible Amazon school-supply or dorm-item purchases made directly by EFF, or a scholarship award distributed through an EFF-approved method. The award is capped by the winner’s verified eligible need.
Once paid voting opens, every verified whole dollar contributed through an eligible student’s checkout on backtoschool.estherfundsfoundation.org equals one campaign vote. A browser confirmation or screenshot is not enough; the verified payment record controls the official count. Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, checks, DMs and other websites never create votes.
A complete profile publishes after the student submits every required field, publication consent and private Fall 2026 enrollment or acceptance documentation. EFF keeps that document private, may unpublish incomplete or unsafe content and completes final eligibility verification before confirming a winner.
Votes connected to refunded, disputed, reversed or uncollectible funds are reduced or removed. EFF uses verified net payment records—not screenshots or cached totals—to determine official results.
Enrollment records, dates of birth, phone numbers, private email addresses and other verification information remain private. Student-selected public profile information and a headshot publish only after the student provides consent and submits every required field.
