Information EFF collects
EFF collects application contact, education, enrollment, consent and public-profile information needed to operate the campaign. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by EFF. EFF may retain donor email, display name, contribution status and payment-provider identifiers for receipts, reconciliation, fraud prevention and required records.
Private files
Enrollment proof is stored in private storage and never appears on the public profile. The headshot selected by the student is copied to public storage only after the student completes the required publication consent and submits the profile. Authorized administrators may access private records through short-lived signed links for eligibility, safety and compliance review.
Public information
Submitted profiles may show a display name, college, major, class year, division, story, needs, item list, student-selected photograph, verified vote totals and rankings. Full names appear only when expressly approved. EFF does not publish birth dates, phone numbers, emails, home addresses, student identifiers or enrollment files.
Use and sharing
EFF uses information to review eligibility, administer the campaign, communicate, process contributions, count verified votes, address refunds or disputes, prevent abuse, report impact and meet legal or financial obligations. Access is limited to EFF personnel and service providers needed to operate the campaign. EFF does not sell applicant information.
Choices and corrections
Students can ask EFF to correct public information, unpublish a profile or address an account issue by emailing nationals@estherfundsinc.org. Some records may need to be retained for tax, audit, grant, payment, security or legal requirements.
Security and retention
EFF uses authenticated accounts, role checks, private storage, encrypted connections, signed webhooks, rate limits and audit records. No online system can guarantee absolute security. EFF must approve its final campaign retention and deletion schedule.
